Art Deco Style Figural Table Lamp with Twin Female Figures
This Art Deco style figural table lamp features two stylised female figures standing side by side, their arms outstretched to meet at the centre, before a fan-shaped panel of blue glass. The figures are finished in a dark, matt patinated tone that contrasts well with the layered blues of the glass. The piece is unbranded, and its maker is not identified. Its design draws on the figurative sculpture and glass-led lighting that were fashionable in the Art Deco period and in the revival styles that followed. The lamp sits on a substantial, rounded black base, which gives it a stable presence on a side table, sideboard or desk.
Condition, Originality and Collector Appeal
The lamp shows general signs of age and handling. There is light surface wear to the dark finish of the figures and base, and some fine marks and minor scratches are visible on the blue glass panels. A length of cable is present, but no electrical testing has been carried out, and this lot is offered for display or restoration purposes only, sold as seen. The overall form, figural detailing and colour of the glass remain largely intact, which helps preserve the character of the original design. Buyers interested in Art Deco inspired lighting, figural sculpture or decorative glasswork may find this a characterful piece for a collection or a period-style interior.
