Limited Edition Aynsley Chepstow Races Bowl
This limited edition hand painted porcelain bowl commemorates Chepstow Races and carries the Chepstow crest and the wording “Chepstow Races” on its central panel. The bowl measures 26cm in diameter and is signed by the artist on the base.
Made by Aynsley, the bowl is marked “Made in England, Fine English Bone China” and “Fine Art Collection” on its base, with the Aynsley crown mark and the date “Est. 1775”. The well is decorated with a pale green border finished with a gold rim. Within the centre, a laurel-style wreath frames a hand painted scene of a racecourse with a grandstand, spectators gathered by the rails and a sweeping landscape beneath a pale sky. The base is marked “No.29-1984”, identifying the piece within its numbered edition.
Condition and Collector Appeal
The bowl is offered in the condition shown, with some light surface marking visible to the unglazed foot rim. The painted decoration and gold detailing appear clear and well defined. Its combination of Aynsley bone china, individual hand painting and a numbered edition makes it of interest to collectors of racecourse memorabilia, Aynsley porcelain and commemorative English china.
