Ancient Egyptian Bastet Figurine
This is a ceramic figure depicting Bastet, the ancient Egyptian goddess of cats, protection, joy, and motherhood. The sculpture portrays Bastet in a seated position, characteristic of many depictions of the deity. The figure is detailed with features suggesting a feline form, and it stands upon a rectangular base adorned with hieroglyphic-style markings. The warm, earthy tones of the ceramic contribute to its antique aesthetic.
