Boss DR-880 Dr. Rhythm Digital Drum and Bass Rhythm Machine
This lot is a Boss DR-880 Dr. Rhythm, a digital drum and bass rhythm machine presented as Lot 225. The unit is finished in a silver and black colourway and carries the Boss name and Dr. Rhythm branding on its front panel. Its control layout includes a Guitar/Bass Input, Drum, Bass and Master Volume knobs, a central backlit display, and a large Value dial. The front panel also features Pattern, Chord Progression and Fill In buttons under EZ Compose, a Groove button, and a Total Sound Control (TSC) button. A row of drum voice pads labelled with instruments such as Crash, Tom, Kick, Snare, Cowbell and Hi-Hat sits alongside Favourite and Bank controls, giving a clear view of its sequencing and rhythm-building functions.
Condition and Collector Interest
The Boss DR-880 shows some light surface marking across its casing and panel, as is typical of equipment that has been handled or stored over time. The buttons, knobs and display are visible in the photographs, but no further assessment has been made of the unit’s internal functionality, and it is offered as seen. Buyers interested in Boss rhythm machines, vintage digital drum units, or music production hardware may find this lot appealing as a practical piece for studio or stage use, or as a collectable example of late twentieth and early twenty-first century rhythm programming equipment.
