Brass Fish Ashtray Sculpture
This striking ashtray is cast in brass, shaped as a stylized fish. Likely dating to the mid-1950s, it embodies the mid-century modern aesthetic with its clean lines and playful form. The fish’s open mouth serves as the receptacle for ash or cigarettes, while the detailed scales and fins add a touch of artistic flair. This piece is reminiscent of the work of Walter Bosse, known for his whimsical brass animal sculptures.
Condition and Collectibility
This vintage brass ashtray shows signs of age and use, with some patina and minor wear consistent with its age. It remains a charming and unique piece of mid-century modern decor. Collectors of vintage brass, animal sculptures, or mid-century ashtrays will appreciate its distinctive design and nostalgic appeal.
