British 16mm No1 Mk.3 Signal Pistol
This is a British Army Signal Kit Pyrotechnic Pistol, 16mm No1 Mk.3. The olive drab metal container houses the firing mechanism and originally held signal flares. The container is marked with details including ‘SIGNAL KIT PYROTECHNIC PISTOL 16mm No1 Mk.3’, the code ‘223A’, and various numbers including ‘1370-99-965-5622’. The pistol itself is a simple, robust design intended for use in signalling, and features a black metal body with a textured grip.
Condition and Collectibility
This signal pistol is presented as an inert example, suitable for display or collection. The container shows signs of wear consistent with military surplus, including scratches and minor surface corrosion. The pistol mechanism appears intact, and the instructions for use are still visible on the inside of the container flap. This piece would be of interest to collectors of military memorabilia, signal equipment, or vintage firearms (as an inert display item).
