Introduction
This is a bronze statue depicting a German Shepherd dog in a relaxed, lying position. The sculpture is signed “L Riche” on the base, indicating the artist. The bronze has a rich, dark patina, enhancing the details of the dog’s musculature and coat. The base is designed to resemble a rough-hewn log, providing a naturalistic setting for the animal.
Condition
The statue presents well, with expected wear commensurate with age. There are some areas of surface wear and patina variation, which contribute to its antique character. This bronze sculpture would appeal to collectors of animal figurines, art deco pieces, or those with an affinity for German Shepherd dogs. The signature adds to its collectibility and potential value.
