Victorian Post Office Alarm Clock
This is a Victorian-era, one-day alarm clock manufactured by Brooker and Co. The clock features a white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and a single winding mechanism. The clock is designed to be mounted on a wall and would have been commonly found in post offices and other public buildings during the late 19th century. The clock’s simple design and robust construction reflect the practical needs of the time.
Condition and Collectability
The clock presents with signs consistent with age and use. The enamel dial shows some wear and minor imperfections, and the case exhibits some patina. This clock would be of interest to collectors of antique clocks, horological enthusiasts, and those interested in Victorian-era ephemera. Its historical significance as a post office timekeeping device adds to its appeal.
