Cast Iron Pagoda Candle Lantern
This cast iron pagoda candle lantern is a decorative piece inspired by the tiered stone and metal lanterns traditionally associated with Japanese gardens and temple architecture. It features a broad, flared roof with a central finial and a fixed hanging handle, above a pierced lattice body that allows light to glow through its openings. The lower section is supported on a tripod-style base with splayed feet, giving the lantern a stable, sculptural profile. The cast iron has developed an attractive green and brown patina, with raised textural detailing visible across the roof and frame.
Condition and Collectability
This lantern shows general signs of age and use, including uneven surface wear, a mottled patina and some marking to the roof edges and feet. The roof has a deliberate central aperture, which forms part of the original design and is not a repair. No maker’s mark is evident, and the piece is offered as seen in the photograph. Its original patina and cast detailing will appeal to collectors of Asian-inspired garden ornaments, and to buyers seeking a characterful lantern for a patio, conservatory or shaded garden.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos.
