Framed Signed Limited Edition Print by Catherine Beale
This lot is a framed, signed limited edition print by Catherine Beale, titled Emerald Hill, Singapore. The print shows a two-storey house with a tiled roof, blue-painted shutters, a striped awning over the ground floor, and a wrought-iron gate with potted plants set before it. The design is rendered in soft blues, greys and white, with touches of red at the roofline. The print is numbered and signed in pencil by the artist in the lower margin, and it is set within a cream mount with a navy inner border. The mount and print are held within a dark grey-finished frame.
Condition, Originality and Collector Interest
The print appears to be in its original mount and frame, and the signature and edition numbering are visible below the image. There are some light marks and areas of staining on the cream mount, including a small mark near the upper edge and some faint discolouration towards the lower corners. The frame shows general signs of handling. The condition of the glazing and the backing has not been examined and no further assurances can be given. Limited edition prints by Catherine Beale of Singapore subjects may appeal to collectors of contemporary topographical art and to buyers seeking a decorative piece with a clear sense of place.
