Rug Description
This is a handknotted oriental wool rug, exhibiting classic Caucasian style motifs. The rug features a vibrant palette of reds, blues, and creams, woven into a geometric design. The intricate patterns and robust construction suggest a traditional weaving technique, likely originating from the Caucasus region, known for its distinctive rug artistry. Measuring approximately 4.5ft x 3ft, this rug is a versatile size suitable for various spaces.
Condition
This rug shows signs of age and wear consistent with its handmade nature and likely age. While the colours remain vibrant, there is some pile loss and fading, particularly in the high-traffic areas. These imperfections contribute to the rug’s character and authenticity, appealing to collectors and enthusiasts of antique textiles. The rug presents a unique opportunity to own a piece of traditional craftsmanship.
