Caverswall China Commemorative Twin Handled Urn
This is a Caverswall China twin handled urn commemorating the wedding of HRH Prince Charles, The Prince of Wales. It is number 248 from a limited edition of 250 and is presented with its original Caverswall China certificate, signed by the managing director.
The urn has a footed base with a deep cobalt blue band edged in gold. The two white scrolling handles rise from the body to the rim, which is finished with a gold line. The cobalt body carries gilt heraldic devices, and the front panel is a white oval bearing a coloured armorial achievement, while the reverse features a painted country house scene within a gilt border. The gilded detailing and fine porcelain finish are characteristic of the maker’s commemorative wares.
Excellent Condition and Collectible Appeal
The urn is offered with its original Caverswall China certificate, which confirms the piece is number 248 of a limited edition of 250 commemorating the royal wedding. The gilding and cobalt ground appear bright, and no obvious chips, cracks or restoration are apparent at the time of cataloguing. Limited edition royal commemoratives with documentation of this kind are sought after by collectors of British royal memorabilia and Caverswall porcelain, and interested parties are encouraged to inspect the lot in person or request further details before bidding.
