Celtic Arts and Crafts Brooch
This is a striking vintage brooch, crafted in the Arts and Crafts style and heavily influenced by Celtic design. The brooch features a circular form, set with cabochon semi-precious stones – including what appears to be turquoise, garnet, and possibly aventurine – within a textured silver-tone metal frame. The design incorporates swirling motifs and raised detailing, characteristic of Celtic knotwork, creating a visually rich and textured piece. The pin and clasp mechanism are integrated into the reverse, allowing for secure fastening.
Condition and Collectibility
This brooch shows signs of age and wear, consistent with a vintage item. There are minor surface scratches and some patina to the metal, which adds to its character. The stones appear secure, though a close inspection may reveal minor imperfections. This brooch would appeal to collectors of Celtic jewellery, Arts and Crafts pieces, or vintage accessories, offering a unique and stylish addition to any collection.
