Lot of Three Wooden Wine Crates Including Chateau Lagrange and Chateau Batailley

This lot comprises three wooden wine crates, stacked and offered together, bearing the branding of three Bordeaux estates. The uppermost crate is printed for Chateau Lagrange, Grand Cru Classe, St Julien-Medoc, 2009, and is marked 12 Bottles. The middle crate is printed for Chateau Giscours, Margaux, 2009, also marked 12 Bottles, and the lowest crate is printed for Chateau Batailley, Pauillac, Grand Cru Classe, 2010, marked 12 x 750ml. Each crate is constructed from pale, slatted timber with the château name, vintage and an engraved château illustration set on the front panel. The three crates are of matching construction, with corners secured by visible fixings.

Condition and Collector Interest

The crates show general wear consistent with age and handling, including surface marks and weathering to the timber. The top crate has a torn area to its label, and the lowest crate carries a white label patch with residue beneath. The printed château details remain legible on all three crates. Wooden wine cases of this type appeal to collectors of Bordeaux branding and to those seeking rustic storage, display or decorative pieces with a connection to classed-growth estates.
