Pair of Cherry Wood Four Drawer Bedside Chests
This lot comprises a pair of cherry wood bedside chests, each fitted with four graduated drawers. The two chests share a matching design and finish, making them well suited to a bedroom where a balanced pair of bedside storage pieces is required. Each chest is set on a moulded plinth base with bracket feet, giving a traditional profile that sits neatly beside a bed. The drawer fronts are framed with moulded edges and fitted with brass oval drop handles, which provide a consistent decorative detail across both pieces. The warm reddish-brown tone of the cherry-effect wood is the main visual feature of the pair.
Condition and Presentation
Both chests show general signs of use consistent with their age. Some surface marking and light scratching is evident on the top of the right-hand chest, and the wood shows minor wear commensurate with domestic use. The brass handles appear to be present on all eight drawers. The drawers have not been tested for operation and buyers are advised to inspect the pieces in person or request further information before bidding. The traditional style and matching construction of the pair may appeal to collectors of mid-century and later British bedroom furniture, as well as to buyers looking to furnish a matching bedside set.
