Vintage Cold Painted Brass Duck
This is a charming vintage cold painted brass duck figurine. The duck features a detailed, textured surface with black and gold paint, creating a striking contrast. The cold painting technique, popular in the early to mid-20th century, involves applying enamel paints directly to the metal surface without firing, resulting in a unique and vibrant finish. This piece likely served as a decorative desk ornament or a whimsical addition to a collector’s display.
Condition and Collectibility
This brass duck exhibits signs of age and wear consistent with its vintage nature. The paint shows some minor loss and patina, adding to its character and authenticity. Collectors often seek out pieces with original paint and patina, as these details contribute to the item’s historical value and visual appeal. This duck would be a delightful addition to a collection of brass figurines, art deco objects, or animal-themed collectibles.
