Description
This is a small cold painted bronze figure depicting a standing gentleman, presented on a small, intricately patterned carpet. The figure exhibits the stylistic hallmarks of Art Deco sculpture, with simplified forms and a focus on elegant pose. The bronze has been cold painted, meaning the colours were applied after casting, resulting in a vibrant, though delicate, finish. The carpet features a geometric design with shades of red, green, and cream, providing a colourful base for the figure.
Condition
The bronze figure and carpet show signs of age and wear, consistent with their likely vintage. The paint on the figure exhibits some loss and fading, particularly in areas of high detail. The carpet displays minor wear to the edges and some fading of the colours. Despite these imperfections, the piece retains its charm and character, and would be of interest to collectors of Art Deco bronzes or miniature figures.
