A Collection of 113 Book Markers from Around the World

This lot comprises a collection of 113 book markers from around the world, housed in an orange ring binder fitted with clear plastic sleeves. The markers are arranged across the pages and include several ribbon-style examples bearing the word MALTA in green, red, olive and cream, as well as a red marker for Winchester Cathedral and a dark marker for St Thomas Becket, Cowfold, Sussex. Other pieces feature a detail from Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper, a red marker quoting John 6:35, a list of the books of the Bible, a green marker reading “The Lord is my Shepherd”, and a Syon Park marker. Further examples include a Jersey (Iles de la Manche) marker, a Cromwell Museum, Huntingdon marker, a marker with a pressed flower from Bala Lake, and a woven marker with a brown and cream pattern.

Condition and Collectability

The markers are presented in clear plastic sleeves within the binder, which keeps them together as a single lot. The individual condition of each marker has not been assessed in detail, so prospective buyers are encouraged to examine the lot closely before bidding. The variety of places, printing styles and subjects offers appeal to collectors of travel ephemera, souvenir bookmarks and religious or heritage-themed pieces, and the sheer number of markers makes this a substantial lot for a dedicated collector.
