Pocket Watch Key Collection
This lot comprises a collection of antique pocket watch keys, likely dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The keys exhibit a variety of styles, including a cross-shaped key, a barrel-shaped key, and several more traditional, cylindrical designs. These keys were essential for manually winding and setting pocket watches before the advent of self-winding mechanisms, and represent a fascinating piece of horological history.
Condition and Collectibility
The keys show signs of age and use, with some patina and minor wear consistent with their age. While the functionality of each key is not assessed, this collection would be of interest to watch collectors, horologists, or those interested in antique tools and mechanisms. The variety of styles and designs makes this a visually appealing and historically significant lot.
