Selection of Copper and Brassware Lot

This lot brings together a varied group of copper and brassware, including a large hammered copper bowl and a copper jug by H Loveridge & Co. The bowl has a shallow, flared form with a hammered surface across its interior. The jug has a tall, straight neck, a looped handle and a rounded body finished with a hammered texture. The remaining pieces include a brass sundial inscribed with the date 1661, an oval cast plaque inscribed Blisworth Tunnel 1805, a decorated brass bell, a repoussé-decorated copper vessel, two horse brasses, a stirrup, a small padlock, a sliding door bolt and assorted door furniture and fittings.

Condition and Collector Interest

The pieces show the expected surface wear and patina associated with copper and brass of their age, with some areas of darkening and oxidation. The lot is offered as seen, and buyers should examine each item closely before bidding. Collectors of arts and crafts copper, Victorian and Edwardian domestic brassware, railwayana and vintage ironmongery may find particular interest in the variety of pieces offered together, especially the named Loveridge jug and the dated sundial and tunnel plaque.
