Vintage Dinky Toys 102 Joe’s Car and Corgi Batman Boat with Robin

This lot pairs two sought-after pieces of 1960s die-cast and plastic toy history: the Dinky Toys 102 Joe’s Car, inspired by the Gerry Anderson television series Joe 90, and a Corgi Batman boat with its Robin figure. Both toys reflect the period’s enthusiasm for futuristic vehicles and popular television heroes, and together they make an appealing display for collectors of vintage toys. The Dinky Toys 102 is finished in metallic teal with a clear canopy, silver-finished twin jet-style engines, a red beacon to the rear and four spring-mounted wheels. Its underside carries the markings “Dinky Toys”, “Joe’s Car”, “Made under licence for C.A.T.V. (Overseas) 1967” and “Meccano Ltd England”. The Corgi boat is a black and red craft with a bat-winged fin bearing the Batman emblem, orange flame decals along the hull and a seated Robin figure in the cockpit.

Condition and Collector Interest

The Dinky Toys 102 shows the expected signs of play and age, including chipping and scuffing to the metallic paintwork, light wear to the silver engine detailing and some marks on the canopy. The wheels show wear to their tyres. The Corgi Batman boat has light marks and wear to the red fin and black hull, with the flame decals and emblem still clearly visible. Both pieces are offered as seen, and the photographs show their condition in detail. Original metallic finishes, identifiable makers’ marks and the connection to Joe 90 and Batman make this lot attractive to collectors of vintage Dinky, Corgi and 1960s television tie-in toys, as well as to enthusiasts looking for characterful display pieces.
