Pair of Painted Wooden Duck Bookends with Axel Scheffler Children’s Books
This lot comprises a pair of decorative wooden duck bookends, each with a carved and painted duck figure mounted on a blue-grey base. One duck wears a blue bow and the other a pink bow, and both have green grass detailing at the base. A small set of Axel Scheffler children’s books is held between the bookends with an elastic band, with visible titles including Freddy the Frog, Katie the Kitten and Lazy the Lamb. The bookends are unmarked and no maker is identified.
Good Condition with Visible Paint Wear
The bookends show visible wear to the painted finish, most noticeably a small area of chipping on the left-hand duck’s wing, consistent with age and handling.
