Four Dutch Delft Blue Table Lamp Bases
This lot comprises four blue and white ceramic lamp bases in the Dutch Delft style, offering a varied selection of forms for collectors and decorators alike. The group includes a windmill-form piece, a baluster-shaped base with a floral panel, a tall urn-form base with handles and a small globular base decorated with a rural scene. Each piece is hand-painted in the traditional cobalt blue on white glaze associated with Delftware, a style long linked with the town of Delft in the Netherlands.
Condition and Collector Interest
The bases show the wear expected of pottery of this type, and the photograph shows some surface marks and light staining, particularly on the upper collar of the baluster-form base. Lamp fittings and wiring are present on several pieces as pictured, but these have not been tested and no electrical suitability is implied. Lots of this kind appeal to collectors of Delft-style ceramics, interior decorators seeking decorative lamp bases, and those restoring or repurposing vintage pottery. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos.
