Edward VIII 1937 3d Coin
This is a British pre-decimal 3d (threepence) coin, dating from 1937, and featuring the portrait of Edward VIII. The coin is made of bronze and displays the King’s head in profile, with the inscription “EDWARD VIII D.G.BR.OMN.REX FID.DEF.IND.IMP.” around the circumference. This coin represents a significant period in British numismatic history, as Edward VIII reigned for a very short time before abdicating.
Condition and Collectibility
The coin appears to be in uncirculated condition, retaining much of its original lustre and detail. It is presented in a protective capsule, which has helped preserve its condition over time. This coin would be of interest to collectors of British coinage, particularly those specialising in pre-decimal coins or those focusing on the reign of Edward VIII.
