Edwardian Floral Still Life
This is a delicate Edwardian-era oil painting on opaque glass, depicting a vibrant arrangement of flowers. The artist, identified as E.M. Harris, has captured the blooms with a soft, impressionistic style, characteristic of the period. The opaque glass support lends a unique luminosity to the painting, enhancing the colours and creating a subtle, ethereal quality. This piece exemplifies the decorative arts popular during the Edwardian era, showcasing a refined aesthetic and attention to detail.
Condition and Collectibility
The painting presents with expected signs of age and wear consistent with its antique status. There are minor imperfections to the glass and paint surface, which contribute to its character and authenticity. This piece would appeal to collectors of Edwardian art, floral paintings, or antique glasswork. Its unique medium and delicate execution make it a charming and desirable addition to any collection or decorative scheme.
