Elephant Statue Table Lamp
This elephant statue table lamp is a decorative lamp with a figural base modelled as an elephant wearing an ornate saddle cloth. The body features raised detailing across the saddle, with a central panel of scrolling foliate ornament and geometric patterning along the cloth. The elephant stands on a stepped, octagonal plinth with a recessed floral relief to the front. The bronze-effect finish is applied across the figure and base, and the lamp is topped with a cream fabric shade with a flared, scalloped lower edge. The shade is trimmed with a green and cream braided border and finished with dark red bead drops. The lamp is fitted with a cable with an in-line switch.
Condition and Collector Interest
The elephant figure and base show their bronze-effect finish with some variation in tone, particularly across the raised detail of the saddle and the plinth. The cream shade shows fine speckling through the fabric, consistent with its age, and the braided trim and bead drops appear to be intact. The original shade and fittings are presented with the lamp. This lamp may appeal to collectors of decorative table lamps and figural ornaments, or to buyers seeking an elephant-themed piece for a bedroom, study or living room.
