Extending Dining Table with Six Chairs
This lot comprises a large extending dining table with six matching chairs in a light wood finish. The table is presented with a separate extension leaf, which is shown resting on the top. The chairs feature tall ladder-style backs with crossed detailing, carved rosette accents to the crest rails, and upholstered seats in a dark grey fabric. The table is raised on substantial turned and fluted legs, and the set has a traditional, formal character suited to a dining room.
Condition and Collector Interest
The table and chairs show general signs of age and use, including scuffs, surface marks and some wear to the finish, with visible marks on the tabletop. The upholstery shows some wear, and the chairs appear to have been stored apart from the table. Buyers should inspect the set carefully before bidding. The lot may appeal to those seeking a large, substantial dining suite for restoration, or to buyers interested in a matching table and chair set with the original carved and fluted detailing.
