Royal Marines Insignia Collection

This lot comprises five Royal Marines badges, showcasing a variety of insignia worn by members of the British military force. The collection includes two cap badges, distinguished by their intricate design and prominent globe and laurel wreath motif. Additionally, there are two collar badges, smaller in scale but equally detailed, and a musician badge, likely denoting a member of the Royal Marines Band Service. These badges would have been affixed to uniforms to identify rank, regiment, and specialisation.

Condition and Collectibility

The badges exhibit signs consistent with age and prior use, displaying a patina that adds to their character. While not assessed for completeness, these badges represent a fascinating glimpse into British military history and would be of interest to collectors of militaria, particularly those focused on the Royal Marines. The variety of badges within this lot offers a comprehensive representation of the insignia worn by different members of the force, making it a desirable addition to any collection.
