Two Volumes of Lewis Carroll’s Classics in a Matching Slipcase
This lot comprises two hardback volumes of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, presented together in a matching slipcase. Both books are bound in red cloth with gilt lettering to the spines, which read “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking-Glass”. The slipcase is covered in a similar red material and houses both volumes neatly side by side. The set is offered as a pair of Folio Society titles, a publisher known for well-made editions of classic literature.
Good Visible Condition With Matching Slipcase
From the photographs, the spines and cloth bindings appear clean and generally bright, with the gilt titles still clearly legible on both volumes. The slipcase also looks tidy, with no obvious damage visible on its exterior, and both books sit snugly within it. The interior pages, the covers’ undersides, the endpapers and any illustrations are not visible in the images, so these cannot be commented on. Buyers may wish to view the photographs closely before bidding. The matching slipcase and tidy spines should appeal to collectors of classic children’s literature and of well-produced limited or special editions.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos.
