Japanese Embroideries & Watercolour

This lot comprises four framed pieces of Japanese artistry. Three are delicate embroideries on silk depicting birds amongst blossoming branches, showcasing traditional Japanese techniques and aesthetic sensibilities. The fourth piece is a watercolour painting on silk, likely depicting a geisha or noblewoman in traditional attire, rendered with fine brushwork and subtle colour palettes. These pieces likely date from the mid-20th century, reflecting a continuation of established artistic traditions.

Condition & Collectibility

The condition of these pieces varies, with some showing signs of age, including minor fading, staining, and wear to the silk and frames. However, these imperfections are consistent with their age and do not detract significantly from their overall aesthetic appeal. These pieces would be of interest to collectors of Japanese art, textiles, or antique embroidery, offering a glimpse into the rich artistic heritage of Japan.
