A Delightful 19th Century French Snuff Taker
This charming figurine depicts a gentleman elegantly taking snuff. Crafted in France during the 19th century, the piece is meticulously hand-painted porcelain, showcasing vibrant colours and intricate detailing in his clothing and facial features. He is adorned in a bright yellow coat with floral embellishments, a blue waistcoat, and patterned breeches, holding a snuff box in his hand. The figure stands upon a shaped base, adding to its overall refined aesthetic.
Condition and Collector Appeal
This antique figurine exhibits signs consistent with age and use, including a repair to the hat. Despite this, the piece retains much of its original charm and vibrancy. The hand-painted details and the subject matter make it a desirable item for collectors of antique porcelain, French figurines, or those interested in historical ephemera. It would be a unique addition to any collection or display.
