Galvanised Watering Can
This lot is a galvanised metal watering can with a cylindrical body, a long, angled spout and a sturdy arched handle across the top. A second loop handle is fitted to the side, and a bracing strut runs from the spout to the body for added support. The galvanised finish gives the can its characteristic cool grey tone, and its simple, practical form reflects the traditional design of garden watering cans. No maker’s mark is visible, so the manufacturer is unknown.
Condition and Collectability
The overall surface is grey and weathered, with light speckling and areas of rust-coloured spotting across the body and lid. Wear consistent with use is evident, and the piece should be viewed in this light. Prospective bidders should inspect the can in person and satisfy themselves of its condition before bidding. Its straightforward, utilitarian character and original galvanised surface may appeal to collectors of garden antiques and to buyers seeking a rustic piece for display in a garden or home setting.
