Garden Chimaera Description
This intriguing garden chimaera stands approximately 30 inches tall and presents a fantastical blend of animal forms. Crafted from terracotta, the sculpture features a robust, weathered aesthetic, suggesting age and exposure to the elements. The design evokes a sense of ancient mythology, with a lion’s head, goat’s body, and serpent’s tail, creating a unique and captivating focal point for any garden or outdoor space.
Condition
The chimaera exhibits signs of weathering and age, consistent with its outdoor use and likely antique status. There are areas of surface erosion and discoloration, adding to its character and patina. Despite these signs of wear, the sculpture remains structurally sound and presents a compelling piece for collectors of garden statuary or those seeking a distinctive decorative element.
