George VI Two Shilling Pendant

This pendant features a 1949 George VI two shilling coin, beautifully transformed into a wearable piece of jewellery. The coin has been gilt and features blue enamel detailing, enhancing the regal portrait of King George VI. The pendant is suspended from a gold-toned bail, allowing it to be easily added to a chain or cord. The coin displays the inscription “GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN” around the portrait, and the year “1949” is visible on the reverse.

Condition and Collectibility

The pendant shows signs of wear consistent with its age and use, adding to its vintage charm. The gilt finish remains largely intact, and the enamel is present, though there are minor imperfections. This piece would appeal to collectors of British coinage, vintage jewellery enthusiasts, or those seeking a unique and historical accessory. The pendant’s conversion from currency to jewellery makes it a particularly interesting item.
