Georgian Sarcophagus Tea Caddy
This elegant tea caddy is crafted in the sarcophagus style, popular during the Georgian period. Constructed from rich mahogany, the caddy features a hinged lid and a beautifully shaped body. Inside, a removable silvered mixing bowl is present, designed for blending tea leaves. The caddy’s design reflects the refined tastes of the era, intended to be a decorative and functional addition to a Georgian household.
Condition and Collectibility
This antique tea caddy shows signs of age and use, consistent with its history. The mixing bowl has been repaired, and there may be minor imperfections to the wood. Despite this, the caddy remains a desirable piece for collectors of antique tea wares and Georgian furniture. Its unique design and historical significance make it a charming addition to any collection or display.
