Gilded Putti Table Lamp Base
This is a vintage table lamp base featuring a beautifully sculpted putti figure, finished in a rich gold gilding. The figure is mounted on a white marble base, providing a lovely contrast to the warm tones of the bronze. The lamp exhibits a classic aesthetic, likely dating to the mid-20th century, and would have originally been wired for electricity. The detailing on the putti is particularly noteworthy, showcasing skilled craftsmanship and a delicate artistic sensibility.
Condition and Collectibility
This lamp base presents with expected wear commensurate with age and use. The gilding shows some loss in areas, revealing the base metal beneath, and the marble base has minor chips and imperfections. Despite these imperfections, the lamp retains its overall charm and character. This piece would appeal to collectors of vintage lighting, art deco objects, or those seeking a unique and decorative accent for their home.
