Vintage Glass Demijohns

This lot comprises three antique glass demijohns, likely used historically for storing and transporting liquids such as wine or cider. Each demijohn features a bulbous body tapering to a narrow neck, and is protected by woven straw or rush covering. The glass is clear, allowing visibility of contents, and the overall design reflects a traditional craftsmanship common in beverage storage during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Condition and Collectibility

These demijohns exhibit signs consistent with age and use, including minor surface scratches, and possible staining within the glass. The protective straw coverings show wear and some loss of material, adding to their rustic charm. Despite these imperfections, they remain desirable items for collectors of antique glass, historical beverage containers, or those seeking unique decorative pieces for display.
