The Goddard Arms Sign
This is a large, decorative metal pub sign depicting the Goddard Arms crest. The sign features a shield shape with a bold heraldic design in red, white, and black. The crest is likely associated with a specific family or pub, and the sign would have been prominently displayed to identify the establishment. The metal construction suggests it was intended for outdoor use, and its size indicates it was meant to be easily visible from a distance.
Condition and Collectibility
The sign exhibits signs of age and wear, with areas of rust and paint loss, consistent with its likely outdoor exposure and vintage nature. Despite this, the crest remains largely visible and retains its character. This sign would appeal to collectors of pub memorabilia, heraldic items, or vintage signage, and would make a striking decorative piece for a home bar or themed establishment.
