Railway Rail Mount

This is a substantial cast iron rail mount, likely originating from the Great Western Railway (GWR). The robust construction and design suggest it was used to secure signalling equipment, trackside lamps, or other vital components to the railway line. The mount features a solid base with mounting holes and a projecting arm for attaching the desired fixture. Its age and style are indicative of early to mid-20th-century railway infrastructure.

Condition and Collectibility

The rail mount exhibits signs of age and use, with surface corrosion and wear consistent with its outdoor railway environment. Despite this, the mount remains structurally sound and retains its original form. This piece would be of interest to railwayana collectors, historians, or those seeking authentic vintage industrial hardware for restoration projects or display.
