Antique W.W. Greener Double Rifle Case
This antique rifle case is crafted from a robust, dark brown leather, and is clearly marked with the name “W.W. Greener Ltd.” of Birmingham. The case features a traditional, rectangular shape with rounded edges, and is secured with a brass lock and clasp. The interior is lined with a green baize material, designed to protect valuable firearms, and includes compartments and straps to hold a double-barrelled rifle and associated accessories. The exterior displays a classic, aged patina, indicative of its age and use.
Condition and Collectability
The rifle case exhibits signs of wear consistent with its age and use, including scuffs, scratches, and some fading of the leather. The interior baize lining shows wear and some minor damage, but remains largely intact. Despite these imperfections, the case retains a significant amount of its original character and charm. This piece would be of interest to collectors of antique firearms, shooting accessories, or vintage leather goods, and represents a piece of British gunmaking history.
