Gurkha Khukuri Knife

This is a traditional Gurkha Khukuri knife, a distinctive curved blade originating from Nepal. The blade exhibits a classic ‘kukri’ shape, designed for both chopping and thrusting. It features a wooden handle, likely crafted from hardwood, and a metal bolster. The scabbard is constructed from a dark material, possibly leather or a similar durable composite, and features a metal tip. This style of knife has a long history of military use, particularly associated with the Gurkha regiments.

Condition and Collectibility

This Gurkha Khukuri knife shows signs of age and use, consistent with a vintage item. There are visible wear marks on the blade and scabbard, and the handle may exhibit some cracking or fading. Despite these signs of wear, the knife retains its overall structural integrity and character. This piece would be of interest to collectors of military memorabilia, ethnographic arms and armour, or those interested in the history and culture of Nepal and the Gurkha soldiers.
