Naval Desk Collectables Lot Including H.M.S. Terrible Match Pot and Glaive Plaque

This mixed lot brings together three naval-themed desk and display pieces. The principal items are a hexagonal wooden match pot and striker, mounted on a dark hexagonal wooden base with a brass plaque engraved “H.M.S. TERRIBLE”, and a silver plate S.S. Orion paperweight modelled as a ship’s anchor on a domed base. The third piece is a round wooden plaque with a brass medallion bearing the word “GLAIVE” above a relief depiction of a sailing vessel with an anchor. The lot would suit a display of maritime or naval souvenirs.

Condition and Collector Interest

The wooden match pot shows general handling marks and wear to its faceted surface, and the brass plaque on the base is visibly tarnished. The silver plate paperweight carries light surface marking and an overall patina consistent with age. The Glaive plaque shows some wear to the wooden mount and some darkening to the brass relief. Each piece is offered as seen in the photograph, and prospective buyers are encouraged to view the lot in person or request further images before bidding. The combination of a named naval vessel, a shipping line souvenir and a regional maritime plaque is likely to appeal to collectors of naval and nautical memorabilia.
