Hand Painted Ceramic Tile Collection of Stylised Ladies
This lot comprises a set of four hand painted ceramic tiles, each featuring a stylised female portrait in a bold, graphic style. The designs draw on mid-century and pop art influences, with vivid colour palettes, expressive eyes and bright lips. The tiles would suit a feature wall, kitchen splashback, fireplace surround or display on a shelf or easel. Each tile is square with a glazed surface, and the individual compositions vary in background and styling, from a red honeycomb hairdo against a lilac floral backdrop to a red polka dot setting and a green floral blouse.
Condition, Originality and Collector Appeal
The tiles show signs of age and handling consistent with their decorative use, including small surface marks and a paper label residue on one corner. Each tile appears to bear an artist’s signature in the lower corner, although this is not clearly legible in the photographs and has not been authenticated. The tiles remain in their original hand painted form, with no evident restoration. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
