Hand Painted Serving Platter and Pizza Plates Lot
This lot comprises a hand painted serving platter, four white pizza plates and a hand painted decorative plate. The oval platter has a pale green glaze and two side handles, with a central well surrounded by six compartments. Each compartment is decorated with painted scenes of food and drink, including cheese, cured meats, sausages, wine and an olive-style garnish. The four white triangular pizza plates have a ribbed, scalloped edge and the word “Pizza” painted in red script on each. The round decorative plate has a blue and white twisted rope border surrounding a central design of hand painted flowers in pink, orange, blue and green.
Condition and Collector Interest
No maker’s mark or brand is clearly evident on the items offered in this lot, so they are listed as unbranded. The platter, pizza plates and decorative plate are offered as described, and any further condition detail should be confirmed with the auction house before bidding. The hand painted scenes on the platter and the individually decorated flower plate may appeal to buyers of vintage kitchen and dining ceramics. The matching pizza plates and the coordinated serving pieces could also suit collectors looking to build a themed serving set.
