Handy Stitch Handheld Sewing Machine with Thread Lot
This lot comprises a boxed Handy Stitch handheld sewing machine, presented alongside a sewing kit tray with an assortment of thread. The Handy Stitch box is marked as “As Seen on TV” and describes the device as “The Handheld Sewing Machine”, promoting “The Power of a Big Machine” that “Even Sews Through Denim” and repairs delicate fabrics such as silk. The packaging is battery powered and lists four AA batteries as required, which are not included. The box also advertises a free bonus of a spindle, needle threader, two extra needles and extra bobbins. The sewing tray contains numerous spools of thread in a wide range of colours, along with bobbins and small notions.
Condition, Packaging and Collector Appeal
The sewing kit appears to remain in its clear plastic wrapping, and the Handy Stitch box shows the expected signs of handling for its age. The machine is not visible outside its packaging, and its working order has not been confirmed. Items marketed through television advertising of this kind are often of interest to collectors of novelty household goods, and the combination of the boxed handheld machine with a ready supply of thread may appeal to buyers seeking a practical starter lot for mending and small repairs.
