A Set of Horn and Bone Handled Carving Knives and Forks
This lot comprises a group of carving knives and forks, together with a sharpening steel and a silver-plated fish slice and serving fork, offered as a set. Several of the carving handles have a textured, grained surface in the manner of horn, while others are a paler, plainer material in keeping with bone. The long carving knife blades are plain and taper to a point, and the carving fork has two curved tines. The fish slice has an engraved blade decorated with leaf motifs, and the serving fork has three tines and a pale handle with a metal collar.
