Horse Brass – Peace 1919
This is a decorative horse brass commemorating Peace in 1919, featuring a vibrant enamel design. The brass is shaped as a shield, with the word “PEACE” boldly displayed above “1919” and “VICTORY” below. It would have originally been attached to horse tack, likely a bridle or harness, as a decorative element. The bright colours and symbolic imagery reflect the relief and celebration following the end of the First World War.
Condition and Collectibility
This horse brass shows signs of age and wear consistent with its vintage. The enamel exhibits some minor chips and imperfections, adding to its character and authenticity. It is a desirable piece for collectors of militaria, equestrian items, or enamelware, offering a tangible connection to a significant historical moment. The brass retains a lovely patina and would be a unique addition to any collection.
