IBM ThinkPad 240 Ultraportable Laptop Lot
This lot offers an IBM ThinkPad 240 ultraportable laptop, presented with an IBM drive bay, a black carrying bag, a mains power adaptor with cabling and an IDE PC Card. The laptop has a black chassis, a backlit-style keyboard layout with the red TrackPoint pointing stick and buttons, and a hinged screen with a dark display panel. The IBM drive bay is a separate black unit that attaches to the rear of the laptop, and the bag is a black padded case with a front flap, buckled straps and a leather-look panel. The IDE PC Card carries the IBM name and is labelled “IDE PC Card”.
Condition and Collector Interest
The laptop shows general wear consistent with its age, including scuffs and marks to the casing and keyboard area, and the bag shows light marks and surface wear. The screen and keyboard appear to be fitted, and the accessories are included as shown in the lot. This is an unverified lot and no testing has been carried out, so buyers should inspect the items carefully before bidding. Early ThinkPad models with their original drive bay and accessories are of interest to collectors of vintage IBM computing and to enthusiasts of 1990s and early 2000s portable computers.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
