Ivory Single Drawer Nightstand
This ivory single drawer nightstand is a painted bedside table with a shaped top, one drawer and a lower woven cane shelf. It is offered as a single piece of occasional furniture suitable for use beside a bed or in a bedroom or living space.
The table has a painted ivory finish across its top, drawer front and carcass. The drawer is fitted with a brass ring pull set within a fleur-de-lis style backplate, and a small knob sits at the top of the drawer front. The lower tier is set with a cane panel, and the slender cabriole legs are carved with shell motifs at the top of each leg and at the centre of the apron. The overall design reflects a traditional French provincial style.
Condition and Collector Interest
The piece shows general signs of use, including some light surface marks and wear to the painted finish, most noticeable along the top edges and around the drawer front. The cane panel and carved detailing appear to be in place, and the overall form remains intact. Buyers seeking a painted bedside table with cabriole legs, carved detail and a cane undershelf may find this an appealing example for restoration, refreshing or continued use in a period-inspired interior.
