## A Rare Military Commission

This is an original field return of the Somerset and Monmouth Companies of 1796, commanded by Major Coleridge. The document details the present and absent officers and men, listing names and numbers, providing a fascinating glimpse into the organisation of a British military unit during the Napoleonic Wars. The hand-written script and aged paper contribute to its historical authenticity and visual appeal.

## Condition and Collectibility

The document is presented within a framed display, offering protection and enhancing its presentation. While showing signs of age with some foxing and wear commensurate with its age, this adds to its character and historical significance. This piece would be of particular interest to collectors of military history, Napoleonic memorabilia, or those interested in genealogical research relating to the Coleridge family and their military service.
